Every day a child gets up like so many others, washes up as every day, take breakfast as every day, goes to school like every day, by the way that does all day, goes to school to the classroom and sits in the same place of all day. But that day, something else would happen! To begin, the teacher was different and offered very different activities that amazed and delighted all students.
This is how it begins this story that, despite the title, will tell us how to break the routine of day-to-day at school, and occasionally as a different class awakens new ways.
Before start reading the story, I asked students to write a text to tell how is a normal day of classes to them.
A normal day of school is this: first make the summary and after ,the alphabet, the name and the multiplication tables. After doing all that we do the exercises on the books. And then go to the playground to play. After, the teacher has called us to go into the classroom to continue the work we were doing in class. We really loved the classes and the school.

A day of school for me is playing a little while wait for my colleagues and teachers and go to class when the teacher arrives. When we get into the classroom we do the summary, the multiplication tables of the 0-1-2-3-4-5-6e10 and the alphabet. Then who is not over in time stays in the classroom with the teacher to end their work and the rest go playing. After playing we go back to the classroom and we do the work, for example Portuguese. When finished we go wash our hands before we go lunch. After lunch we will play or else I'm going to piano lessons. After the break we brush our teeth and go to class. Sometimes when we do all the work we work in Artistic Expression and after that the teacher tells us to go to eat something for our break.
We, after the snack time, we go to the study time. And so is a normal day of school for me.

A normal day of school for me is to go to school to study, play with colleagues, lunch with colleagues, and then go have a snack. In the final play and then go to the study. After playing with our colleagues to our parents come to take us back home. At home, play and then go to sleep.
The next day we woke up and go again to school and make the queue and then the teacher comes to us and we will seek to study. It's just a normal day of school.

After their stories were written, we read the story, they found very funny because it appeals to their imagination. At the end of the reading and exploration of the history students thought about a different day of classes and told how it by written. Perhaps because the Carnival has been the closest party, the vast majority chose that day. But some were original, choosing other day.
One day I went to school and that day and did not do anything special, just played and painted. That was the day of Carnival. It was on March 4, Friday. That day, I was paraded into the street, I was dressed in Chinese custom and my colleagues were also very beautiful. After that I did not take of the fantasy, because I wanted to stay with it. After I went to have lunch with the fantasy and after that I went to school and when I took off my costume and stood by to watch a movie. My teacher dressed like an African women.

The Carnival day was Friday March 4. I and my colleagues came dressed with a country custom, like a Tyrolean country type, Zorro, Spanish, Chinese and Italian etc.
And there were no classes that day. We were always in the yard and then took a picture and we went to play. Then we came to school and went to eat lunch. The food was fish and vegetable salad. After lunch, we listened to several songs. It was Marquinho who put the music that day.

One day, different from others was Christmas. We started the day as usual. First we wait for all the colleagues and the teacher. After waiting for everyone we do drawings and games related to Christmas time. After that we went to have lunch. Then, Marquinho put some music and students and teachers began to dance. After that we went to the room to finish our works. We went to have a snack and then the parents came to get us to go dress for the presentation in front of parents and all pupils. And that day was like that.

A day school that was different was the Carnival, Friday the 4th of March. I dressed myself like an Indian. Some brought streamers and confetti, and we left school very happy. We started to walk to downtown where we play a little bit. In the afternoon we had a clown who was very funny.

One day I was at school and was the day of Magusto party. We went to the Eucharist to hear the Director Priest and some priests. After that, we painted some drawings. It was a cool morning. In the afternoon we went to Magusto party. The Manuela made roasted chestnuts and then we put our hands in the ashes and painted our faces with that. After that we went to the bathroom wash our faces and went to have a snack in the classroom. In the end we went to the yard to play and we did not study, that day.

Our work did not stop there! At the end of the week, it was proposed them to ask their parents, grandparents or other relatives who are with them, to write a text about how it was a normal day of school in their time. The children found it funny, the differences of teaching time in relation how we teach now.
A normal day of school for my father was: at eight hours o’clock he got out of bed and ate toasted bread and drank coffee with milk. He lived in the same house as the teacher, and they went to school together. By mid-morning, about 10 hours, his teacher offered to all students with heated milk chocolate and biscuits, because at that time the boys lived with some difficulty. Then playing at the yard, playing football, throwing the top and throw strikes. Later he got back to classes and about 12 hours he going to lunch with the teacher Teresa's to Joaquim Brazilian house. In the afternoon was followed the same ritual.

My father went in the Road primary school in Jovim Gondomar between 1970 and 1974. He lived about 1km from school and went to school by foot. He got up around 8 am and classes start at 9 am and end at 1pm. Around 11 am he had a break of about 20 minutes that’s when he it took advantage to play ball with friends. He went to lunch at Grandma's house. In the afternoon he studied and played with his friends. The teacher was named Miss Emily.

Came to school at 8:30. After entering in the classroom, each one went to his table. In the classroom has never played, because there was just to learn. Then, when we were all seated, the teacher was called our proper names to verify that no one was missing. After this, we started the class. If we behave bad, it was usually the teacher beat us with a wood ruler.
At the time of the break, the teacher gave us chocolate milk to drink in the playground. At recess, we played the elastic, to the top, hiding from each other, and so on.
At the end of the day we returned home, where we did our homework.

By that time my mother's classes started at 8:00 in the morning. In the beginning there was always a prayer, which served to calm down and thank for one more important day. After we show the homework we read the lesson high, all together. In ancient times there was a chalkboard where the boys would do the math that the teacher dictated. Everyone wanted to go to the table, because it was fun. After the break it was time to study the map that existed in the classroom. To end the day at school we did a drawing and marked new homework and we gave a farewell to the teacher.

One day of my mother's elementary school, started at 7:30 in the morning. She ate the breakfast which was bread with butter and milk with barley. He dressed and then walked up the street, about 500 meters.
The school began at 9 am and the entrance to the school director had to put the students up the stairs, all lined up quietly and went to all the rooms.
The teacher came and took the good days and began to teach the class, had a map and a globe. At 10:30 was the playground, with a snack. At 11 am and started new classes. At noon went home for lunch and returned to school at 2 pm. The school finished at 5 pm and we marked the duties to do at home.

The school, when I was a child was very different. The boys were separated from girls. We prayed and get up from the chairs us when someone entered in the classroom.
Would walk to school alone. Sang the Portuguese hymn. There was a crucifix above the blackboard and wore a white gown. The ruler was called paddle.

In the end, they passed the text on their computers and we made our own book with their own stories about the school.
