Em Setembro, quando estive a escolher alguns livros propostos pelo Plano Nacional de Leitura, para trabalhar este ano lectivo, eis que me deparo com este livro lindíssimo As cores do arco-íris de Jennifer Moore-Mallino.
Este livro fala-nos das raças, comparando o ser humano às diferentes cores do arco-íris que tem sete cores todas diferentes, mas todas juntas formam um lindo arco-íris. O ser humano é igual, vive em diferentes países, fala diferentes línguas, a cor da pele é diferente, a comida é diferente, a cor dos olhos também, enfim, existe uma imensa lista de coisas que nos diferenciam. No entanto, tal como o arco-íris, todos temos algo em comum: sentimentos, família, gostamos de brincar, de ter amigos e juntos formamos o nosso mundo.
Baseado neste livro, as turmas do 1º e 2º anos juntaram-se durante os meses de Novembro e Dezembro com um projecto multicultural baseado nesta obra, tentando responder à questão: "Afinal seremos assim tão diferentes?". Foi isso, que os alunos destas turmas estiveram a descobrir neste projecto, que promete continuar ainda no 2º período.
É um livro de fácil leitura, e que faz com que as nossas crianças desde cedo compreendam a famosa frase: "Todos diferentes, todos iguais" e aprendam a respeitar essas diferenças, tirando o melhor partido delas.

In September, when I was choosing some books proposed by the National Reading Plan, to work this year in school, here I come across this lovely book The colors of the rainbow from Jennifer Moore-Mallino.
This book talk about all the races, comparing humans to the differents colors of the rainbow, that has seven colors, all different, but all together make a beautiful rainbow. The human being is equal, living in different countries, speak different languages, skin color is different, the food is different, eye color also, there is a huge list of things that set us apart. However, as the rainbow, we all have something in common: feelings, family, we love to play, to have friends and together we form our world.
Based on this book, the classes in the 1st and 2nd year, from Primary School, joined during the months of November and December with a multicultural project based on this book, trying to answer the question: "In what we are so different?". That is the question that the students in these classes were trying to discover in this project, which promises to continue even in the 2nd term.
It is a readable book, and that makes our children early on to understand the famous phrase: "All different, all equal" and learn to respect these differences, making the best of them.
